BATON ROUGE, La. – The University of Kentucky volleyball team (10-3, 1-0 Southeastern Conference) traveled to Baton Rouge Friday to open SEC play against the Tigers of LSU (8-6, 0-1 SEC) and former UK coach Fran Ralston-Flory. The Wildcats downed the Tigers in three games, 15-10, 15-7, 15-1.

The Wildcats were led by senior middle blocker Jenny Muzzey, who recorded 10 kills and three digs while posting a .615 hitting percentage. Junior setter Terri Crabb continued her solid play, notching 20 assists, six digs, four kills and three service aces in the match. LSU was led by junior Kelly Thompson with 10 blocks and three digs on the night.

SEC competition continues for the Wildcats on Sunday, Sept. 27, as they travel to Fayetteville to face the No. 16 Arkansas Razorbacks (8-2). Kentucky returns home on Wednesday, Sept. 30, to take on in-state rival Louisville, which is currently ranked No. 22, at 7 p.m. in UK’s Memorial Coliseum.
