The Kentucky men and women’s track and field team both finished in lastplace at the Indiana 4-Way Track Meet on Saturday. Sixteen athletesfinished in the top three of their respective events.
Shevan Threats won the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.91. She also wonthe long jump competition with a leap of 20 feet, one-quarter of an inch.Ola Sesay finished in second place in the same event with a jump of 18-10.75.
In the 100-meter hurdle competition, Lutisha Shittu set a new personalbest and finished in second place with a time of 13.67.
Jennifer Kehoe finished second in the 1,500-meter race and third in the3,000-meter race with times of 4:38.04 and 10:29.97, respectively.
Falana Greenwell placed second in the triple jump competition with herdistance of 37-03.25. In the javelin competition, Beth Burkett finishedsecond with her personal best throw of 145-07.00.
In men’s competition, Jeff Ellis and Matt Kavanagh both brought home firstplace titles. Ellis won the 400-meter hurdle competition with a personalbest time of 50.17. Kavanagh won the hammer throw competition with histoss of 209-08.00.
Andrew Vanderwagen finished in second place in the high jump competitionand set a new personal best with his leap over 6-10.75.
In the shot put competition, Scott Theis finished in third place with hispersonal best 56-00.50. Kavanagh placed seventh and also set a newpersonal best with his toss of 48-07.75.
The Wildcats will travel to Athens, Ga., in two weeks to compete in theSEC Outdoor Championships.
