The Kentucky Baseball team (10-17, 4-8 SEC) will play host to the EasternKentucky Colonels (20-12, 5-4 OVC) on Tuesday, April 6, at 6 p.m. at CliffHagan Stadium.
This will be the second meeting between the schools this season and the83rd meeting overall. UK leads the overall series 58-24-1, but lost to EKUlast week in Richmond, Ky., 9-8.
Kentucky will travel to Athens, Ohio, on Wednesday, April 7, to face theBobcats of Ohio University (10-12, 1-1 MAC). Wednesday’s matchup will bethe 14th meeting between the two schools. Ohio leads the series, 7-6.Kentucky beat the Bobcats last year in Lexington, 16-4.
Freshman Aaron Wilson will take the mound for Kentucky on Tuesday. TheEvansville, Ind., native made his first collegiate start last week againstXavier, pitching four innings and giving up one run while striking outthree batters. Junior Nathan Kent will pitch Wednesday. Kent pitched inSaturday’s loss to Georgia, giving up three earned runs in 6.1 inningspitched.
The Wildcats are coming off their first winning conference series, beatingGeorgia in two out of three games this weekend. Sophomore John Wilson hitfour home runs over the weekend and has hit eight home runs in the lasteight games. He currently has a 15-game hitting streak heading into midweekaction.
