LEXINGTON, Kty. – The University of Kentucky diving contingent travels to Athens, Ga., for the 1998 NCAA Zone B Diving Championships, which will be held Friday and Saturday.

Senior All-American Paco Rivera, the 1998 SEC Platform champion, and sophomore Alex Hawley represent the UK men. All-Americans Beth Leake and Christy Soulakis, as well as Sarah Fields and Carrie Knoeber will compete for the UK women.

On the women’s side, Zone B is guaranteed nine positions at the 1998 NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships, to be held March 19-21 at the University of Minnesota. Three competitors will come from the one-meter event, while the three-meter even will provide four participants. The top two finishers on the platform also advance. In the men’s competition, Zone B is guaranteed 12 positions at the 1998 NCAA Men’s Championships, to be held March 26-28 at Auburn University. The top four one-meter finishers, the top five three-meter performers, and the top three platform competitors all advance.
