LEXINGTON, Ky.– The University of Kentucky women’s soccer team will try to bounce back from last weekends SEC/ACC Challenge in Clemson, S.C., when it plays host to Cincinnati Friday at 7 p.m. at the UK Soccer Complex. The Wildcats suffered disappointing losses against Wake Forest and Clemson at the Challenge and hope to return to their winning ways this weekend.
Kentucky (3-5-2, 2-2 Southeastern Conference) is led by All-SEC candidate Carrie Staber, who scored two goals last weekend, bringing her team-leading total to five on the season. Freshman midfielder Suzie Ledzianowski is making an impact, tallying two goals and two assists. The Bearcats (5-5-1, 4-3 Conference USA) are coming off a 3-0 shutout victory over DePaul. Senior forward Tina Matlock has notched nine goals in 11 games, while junior forward Amy Rodeheffer has contributed four assists.
“This is probably our biggest rival outside the SEC,” UK coach Warren Lipka said. “We have a lot of players from Ohio on our team, so this will be an intense match-up.”
