BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The 26th-ranked University of Kentucky men’s tennis team finished play at the Indiana University Winter Invitational on Sunday, winning two doubles flights and two singles flights.
In doubles play, Carlos Drada and Johan Grunditz teamed up to win Flight One by defeating Indiana’s Gabriel Montilla and Rahman Smiley, 8-5. The Wildcat duo of Johan Hesoun and Gustav Pousette won Flight Three, as they topped the IU team of Ian Arons and Ricardo Jordan, 8-3.
The Cats also picked up two singles wins, as Hesoun outlasted Hoosier Ian Arons, 7-6, 4-6, 4-6, to win Flight One, and Drada defeated Indiana’s Milan Rakvica, 7-6, 7-6, in Flight Four.
Next up for Kentucky is Notre Dame on Tuesday, Feb. 9, as the Fighting Irish come to town to face the Cats at 3 p.m. at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center.
