LEXINGTON, Ky. – Tim Couch has been chosen first-team All-America by the All-AmericanFootball Foundation of Jackson, Miss.
Couch completed 400 of 553 passes, 72.3 percent, for 4,275 yardsand 36 touchdowns during the 1998 season. He finished his Kentuckycareer with seven NCAA records, 14 Southeastern Conference records, and26 Kentucky records. He led the Wildcats to a 7-4 regular season record- the team’s best since 1984 – and a berth in the Outback Bowl.
Couch also was named first-team All-America by the FootballWriters Association of America and the Walter Camp Football Foundation.Couch has given up his final year of collegiate eligibility in order toenter the National Football League draft.
Commonwealth Stadium Update: Construction crews are finishingthe installation of structural steel in the east end zone (Nutter FieldHouse side) and have begun installing the decking for the seating.Crews have begun installation of structural steel on the west end zone(Nicholasville Road side).
