LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky men’s soccer player Michael Stickler has been named Mid-American Conference Player of the Week. Stickler, a junior forward from Hudson, Ohio, registered 2 goals and two assists in two UK wins last week, including the game-winning goal in Sunday’s 5-4 double-overtime win over Western Michigan.
With Stickler’s help, the Wildcats have improved to 6-5, 2-0 in the MAC, and are riding a school-record six-game win streak. The Cats have risen to the top of the MAC conference and are ranked eighth in the Great Lakes Region according to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll released Monday.
The Cats return to conference action this weekend, as they travel north to take on Buffalo (10-3, 2-0 MAC) and Akron (7-2-1, 1-0-1 MAC).
