UK Women’s Basketball to Inaugurate Ohio State’s New Facility The University of Kentucky women’s basketball team will be Ohio State’s first regular season opponent in its new Value City Arena at the Jerome Schottenstein Center on Thursday, Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m. OSU’s new arena seats 19,500 and is second only to Tennessee’s Tompson-Boling Arena that seats 25,000. The Wildcats, who won last year’s meeting versus the Buckeyes 68-51, look to dampen the festivities and capture their second straight non-conference win. “We look forward to playing Ohio State in their new arena,” Coach Bernadette Mattox said. “It will be our first road game of the season and it will definitely be a learning experience for our new kids to play in a hostile environment.”
The Buckeyes (1-0) lead the all-time series over the Wildcats (1-0), 12-9. The Cats have not won in Columbus since Dec. 30, 1985 when they charted a 70-66 victory.
