Cincinnati – The University of Cincinnati Bearcats (16-20) received three key home runs and a strong pitching performance from Kentuckian Joey List as the Bearcats topped the Wildcats (15-23) at Johnny Bench Field.

Aaron McGlone hit his tenth home run of the year and Jason Wolfe belted his fifth home run of the season as Kentucky mounted a comeback in the late innings, but could never catch the Bearcats. UC jumped out to an early 7-1 lead before allowing five runs by UK in the top of the seventh. The Wildcats’ ended the game with the winning run at the plate, but could not capitalize and lost their second game in a row, 7-5.

UC sophomores Matt Singer and Craig Tewes hit their 10th and 11th homers of the season, respectively, while freshman Joe McBride hit his fifth of the year as the Bearcats pounded out 11 hits in the victory. List picked up his third win of the season, allowing three hits in 6.1 innings pitched and tying his career-high in strikeouts with six.

Kentucky returns to action on Wednesday, April 21, playing host to the Morehead State Eagles at Cliff Hagan Stadium. The game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
