The 24th-ranked University of Kentucky women’s tennis team will travel to the Hoosier state for two matches as the Cats visit Purdue on April 4 and Indiana on April 5.
The Wildcats (11-5, 4-5 SEC) will try to extend their three-match winning streak when they face Purdue. UK defeated No. 20 Notre Dame in its last match. UK’s Massoumeh Emami overcame 18th-ranked Jennifer Hall 3-6, 7-5, 7-6, to help lead the Wildcats to victory. The Cats then swept Louisville the next day, winning all six singles and three doubles matches.
The Boilermakers (7-6, 3-1 Big Ten) are coming off an 8-1 win against Miami (Ohio). Purdue dropped only the No. 1 singles match and swept the other matches in straight sets. No. 2 singles player Mary Beth Maggart is 11-6 on the season, and Purdue’s top doubles team, made up of Maggart and Jennifer Embry, has posted a 12-6 record.
Indiana, ranked 34th in the latest ITA poll, is 8-6 on the season. The Hoosiers are led by No. 1 singles player Correne Stout, who brings a 9-5 record into the match.
