LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky men’s tennis team jumped 19 spots from No. 32 to No. 13 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association men’s rankings released Tuesday.
The Cats (12-6, 5-3 Southeastern Conference) have won five of their lastnine matches, including three wins over Top 20 teams. UK is coming off abusy week, when the Cats went 3-1, topping SEC opponents LSU, Auburn andMississippi State.
UK’s No. 1 singles player, Carlos Drada, was ranked at 36th in the singlesrankings, while Johan Hesoun, who plays at No. 2 in the Wildcat lineup,appeared at No. 83. In doubles, the UK duo of Tomas Smid and Edo Bawono wasranked at No. 44.
