LEXINGTON, Kty.-The University of Kentucky Softball team takes on a non-conference rival for the first time in two weeks on Tuesday, as the Wildcats travel to Evansville, Ind., to take on the Evansville Aces.
UK (17-34, 5-15 SEC) is coming off six straight losses, all to Southeastern Conference opponents and are 0-4 in its last two non-conference doubleheaders – losses to Chattanooga (April 8) and Ball State (March 31). The Wildcats’ last non-conference win was a March 25 sweep of Morehead State.
Evansville (26-18) have lost seven of their last 10, but had won eight straight to start the month of April. Junior Mattie Ross has led the Aces at the plate this season with a .374 batting average, and has picked up 15 of Evansville’s 26 wins with a 1.83 ERA.
Following the Evansville doubleheader, the Wildcats hit the road for a pair of SEC doubleheaders at Arkansas and LSU this weekend. UK returns home on April 29 for a non-conference doubleheader with Miami of Ohio.
