LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s basketball team will play its next threegames on the road after an upset win over No. 8 Georgia at home on Sunday.

The Wildcats will travel to Columbia, S.C., to meet South Carolina onThursday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m., before facing Mississippi State in Starkville,Miss on Valentine’s Day at 3 p.m. The Cats’ last opponent on the road inregular season action is intrastate rival Eastern Kentucky. UK will facethe Lady Colonels in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 6:30p.m. Both the South Carolina and Eastern Kentucky games will be televisedlive on Fox Sports South.

UK looks to capture its first win in Columbia since topping the Gamecocks,82-63 on Jan. 8, 1994. Last season, UK split games with the Lady Gamecocks(10-12, 0-11 Southeastern Conference), winning in Lexington, 87-73, on Feb.8 and losing in Columbia, 67-65, on Feb. 21. UK leads the series versusUSC 13-7, but is 3-5 when playing in Columbia.

“Playing on the road is difficult, especially in this conference,” UK CoachBernadette Mattox said. “South Carolina will be ready for us and we muststay focused and play smart basketball.”

With 15 wins this season, the Cats (15-8, 5-6 SEC) have charted the mostwins in Coach Mattox’s four-year stint and the most wins since the 1993-94squad finished 17-11. UK needs just one more SEC win to record the mostconference wins since finishing 6-2 in the 1982-83 season.
