One Practice Cancelled, One Shortened: Although two fullpractices were planned, the Kentucky football team ended up with only 45minutes of practice on Tuesday.

Coach Hal Mumme cancelled the morning workout in order to givehis team a rest, then saw the afternoon practice shortened by arainstorm. The Wildcats had worked on special teams play before therain and spent extra time studying film.

“This is a blessing in disguise,” Mumme said when asked aboutthe lost practice time. “We needed a day like this to get our (tired)legs back.

“This is blessing for everybody, not just us. The area neededrain a lot more than we needed to practice football.”

University of Kentucky classes begin on Wednesday. The teamwill begin its normal 2 p.m. practice schedule.
