LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s soccer team will play host to the DaytonFlyers on Sunday, Sept. 19, at the UK Soccer Complex. The showdown betweentwo teams ranked in the Great Lakes Region top 10 will begin at 5 p.m.UK (3-2-1, 1-1 SEC), currently ranked sixth in the region, is coming offits second straight win, a 3-0 shutout over Marshall on Thursday.

Sophomore Annie Gage led the Cats with a goal and an assist while freshmanElizabeth Ramsey added two assists. Forward Keri Boyce scored her thirdgoal of the season as UK used a season high 25 shots to help defeat the Herd.Ramsey leads UK’s offensive attack this season with four goals and twoassists.

Dayton (4-1) enters the matchup with UK ranked No. 10 in the region. TheFlyers have recorded several impressive victories and are undefeated on theroad this season, winning all three games away from Baujan Field.

“This is an important game for our team because it is a region game andthose go along way come tournament time,” UK coach Warren Lipka said. “It’simperative we jump on them early and not let them back in the match.”UD is led by freshman forward Missy Gregg who has scored eight of theFlyers’ 11 goals this season. Gregg has taken 25 shots along with threegame-winning goals.

Both teams have one common opponent, Evansville. UK opened the season athome with a 1-1 tie in overtime. On Sept. 12, Dayton scored a 4-3 overtimevictory over Evansville on the Purple Aces’ home field.UK leads the all-time series between the two schools, 2-1-1. Last season inDayton, the Cats and Flyers played to a 3-3 tie in overtime.
