TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The University of Kentucky Lady Kat golf team finished the first day ofthe Lady Seminole tournament in second place with three golfers in the top20. Defending tournament champion and Kentucky senior Jenny Dugan is tiedfor fourth place after one round, shooting a 1-under-par 71.
Also in the top 20 are sophomore Kristen Pepe, junior Jenny Throgmortonand freshman Rachel Lester. Pepe shot a 3-over-par 75 in the first roundand is currently tied for eighth place with three other golfers, includingThrogmorton. Lester, who is competing in her first collegiate tournament,shot a 4-over-par 76, tying her for 12th place.
Freshman Lady Kat Marie Allen finished the day in 21st place, shooting a7-over-par 79. The Lady Kats ended the day with a team total of 297, 19strokes behind first place Mississippi State. Host Florida State is inthird place with a team total of 307.
The Lady Seminole Invitational tournament will continue Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
