The University of Kentucky Lady Kat golf team finished the Lady SeminoleInvitational Tournament in third place after three rounds of competition.Freshman Rachel Lester debuted this weekend, earning her first top 10 finish.
Lester shot of 2-over-par in the final round of the tournament, giving hereighth place. She shot a three-round total of 225, just nine shots behindthe first place finishers Pia Josefsson and Lina Thoren, both of championMississippi State.
Senior Jenny Dugan finished the tournament in 13th place after shooting a7-over-par on the final day of competition. Sophomore Kristen Pepe alsofinished 13th, shooting a 3-over-par in the third round, making this thethird time Pepe has shot her season best (75).
Other Lady Kat finishers include junior Jenny Throgmorton, who finishedthe tournament in 17th place and Marie Allen, who finished 25th.Throgmorton shot a 9-over-par 81 in the final round and Allen shot an 82.
The Lady Kats will compete in the Lady Buckeye Fall Invitational inColumbus, Ohio, beginning Oct. 2, at Ohio State.
