LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky men’s soccer team heads north on its final roadswing of the 1999 regular season this weekend, as the Cats travel toDeKalb, Ill., to face MAC foe Northern Illinois on Friday at 3 p.m.
The Cats (9-5-1, 4-0-1 MAC) are coming off back-to-back losses to Indianaand Louisville and will look to rebound against the Huskies (9-8, 2-4 MAC).Northern, conversely, enters Friday’s showdown riding a two-match winstreak after topping Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Western Michigan last weekend.
UK leads the all-time series against Northern Illinois 8-0-1, with theCats picking up a pair of wins over NIU last season.
“Northern will be a tough test for us,” UK Coach Ian Collins said. “Theirfield is a very difficult place to play and they’ve been on a roll lately.”
