LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s soccer team received an at-large bid tothe 1999 NCAA Women’s Soccer Tournament the NCAA selection committeeannounced Sunday night.

UK (16-2-2) will host the winner of the Montana-Texas A&M match in thesecond round on Sunday, Nov. 14 at the UK Soccer Complex. The match is setfor 1 p.m. Montana (12-5-1) and Texas A&M (15-4-1) will play theirfirst-round match on Wednesday, Nov. 10 in College Station, Texas.

“This is a reward for all the hard work we put in during the season,” UKcoach Warren Lipka said. “The hard part is over so now we have to get readyto begin our second season.”

This is the fourth bid to the NCAA Tournament UK has received during theprogram’s eight year history. The Cats have never played a second-roundgame after losing all three previous games in the first round of the NCAATournament.


Boyce Named to SEC All-Tournament Team

Freshman forward Keri Boyce was named to the 1999 SEC All-Tournament teamwhich was announced Sunday at the conclusion of the SEC Championship gamein Nashville in which Florida defeated Ole Miss, 3-0. Boyce was named SECFreshman of the Year by the league office on Wednesday.
