LEXINGTON, Kty. – The University of Kentucky men’s soccer team will face defending nationalchampion Indiana on Sunday, Nov. 21, in the opening round of the 1999 NCAASoccer Tournament, championship organizers announced Monday night.
“Indiana’s a tough team,” UK Coach Ian Collins said. “But in a 32-teamdraw, every team is tough. Our players have worked for this all year,though, and I know they’ll continue to work hard over the next week to getready for the match.”
The Hoosiers (16-3) are coming off a 2-1 double-overtime win over PennState in the Big Ten final, while the Cats (13-6-1) enter the match ridinga four-match win streak.
UK and IU met earlier this season in Bloomington with Indiana coming out4-2 winners. IU leads the all-time series between the two schools 6-1. UK’slone victory came in 1995, a 1-0 win in Bloomington.
