LEXINGTON, Kty. — The 1999 SEC Volleyball Academic Honor Roll was announced on Tuesday by SEC Commissioner Roy Kramer. Comprising the 62-member honor roll were five UK student-athletes. Sophomore April Barnhorst, juniors Stacey Wallace and Megan Weiskircher and seniors Jaclyn Homan and Jennie Reed earned the honors for their exemplary work in the classroom.
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must have a 3.0 or better grade point average for the past year or a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher for their career, a sophomore in terms of academic classification and have 24 semester or 36 quarter hours toward a degree.
Wallace, Weiskircher and Homan are two-time winners of the award as all three were honorees for the 1998 school year. The UK volleyball team also placed five members on last year?s SEC Academic Honor Roll.
