SAN ANTONIO, Texas – On the first day of the 1999 United States Open swimmeet, senior Annabel Kosten and junior Melissa Olson scored in theirrespective events to lead the UK swimming and diving team.

Kosten, a native of Breskens, Netherlands, swam her to way to a 12th-placefinish in a time of 26.59 in the consolation heat of the women’s 50-meterfreestyle.

Olson earned a 14th-place finish, swimming in the consolation heat of the200-meter backstroke with a time of 2:20.03.

Day two of the three day meet begins Friday morning at 10:00 am at thePalo Alto College Natatorium.
