White to Play, Whalen Will Miss the TYCO Gridiron Classic:Kentucky senior running back Anthony White will play in thesecond-annual TYCO Gridiron Classic on Sat. Jan. 29 at 2 p.m. inOrlando, Fla. Florida Citrus Sports is the host for the game, whichwill be played in the Citrus Bowl and will be televised by espn2. Whitewill play for Team USA and wear uniform number 32 in the Team USA vs.Team Florida format.
White already has played in the East-West Shrine Game on Jan.15, leading the victorious East team in rushing. Tight end JamesWhalen, Jr., had committed to play in the Gridiron Classic, but will notbe able to participate while recovering from the dislocated elbowsuffered in the HomePoint.com Music City Bowl. Linebacker Jeff Snedegarhad been invited to play in the Gridiron Classic, but declined theinvitation.
White will be the second Wildcat to play in the GridironClassic. Offensive tackle Kris Comstock played for Team Florida in theinaugural event last year.
Coaches Recruiting: The coaching staff is in the midst ofrecruiting activities. Signing day is Wednesday, Feb. 2.
Players Working Out on Their Own: The Wildcats are working outon their own discretion. Official off-season strength and conditioningworkouts begin Feb. 1.
