GAINESVILLE, Fla. – UK sophomore Towa Okiyama shot a 7-over-par 79 again on Sunday to finish in a tie for 40th at the SunTrust Lady Gator Invitational in Gainesville. Kentucky finished 15th in the event.

Other UK finishers include freshman Marie Allen, who shot a 78 for a three-day tally of 244 to finish 63rd. Junior Jenny Throgmorton shot an 80 Sunday to bring her three-round total to 245, placing her 64th individually. Junior Jenny Dugan shot an 81 for a three-day total of 249, while sophomore Kristen Pepe rounded out scoring for the Kats with an 80, for a total of 251.

Host Florida came from behind on Sunday to win the event with a team total of 904, edging out South Carolina with a 919. Furman’s Jennifer Perri won the event with a 2-over-par 218 for the weekend.

The Lady Kats are back in action on Friday, Mar. 10 when they travel to the Dominican Republic to participate in the Casa de Campo Invitational.
