GymKats face No. 18 Florida, Central Michigan and George Washington Friday.
LEXINGTON, Kty. – The University of Kentucky gymnastics team will play host to its second quad-meet of the season on Friday, March 3 at 7:30 p.m. in Memorial Coliseum, when it takes on No. 18 Florida, Central Michigan and George Washington.
The GymKats (3-7, 1-3) are coming off a loss to third-ranked conference rival Alabama last weekend by a score of 196.125-193.925. Freshman Julia Gore finished second in the all-around with a career high 39.125. Junior Beth Coleman recorded a season high 9.850 on vault en route to a second-place finish.
The meet marks the 16th meeting between Kentucky and Florida. The last time the Gators traveled to Lexington, the GymKats recorded their first victory over Florida in school history.
This weekend marks only the second meeting between the Kats and Central Michigan. Last season the two met at the NCAA Southeast Regional, where Central Michigan edged out the Kats by a score of 193.550-191.825.
Kentucky hosted George Washington last January, notching UK’s 13th victory over the Colonials.
