“Wildcat Weekend” April 21-23: “Wildcat Weekend” will be April21-23 with six athletic events available for the one admission price of$5.

“Wildcat Weekend” begins Friday, April 21, with a softballdoubleheader vs. Florida at 5 p.m. at the UK Softball/Soccer Complex.The baseball team plays host to South Carolina – the SEC EasternDivision leader – at 6 p.m. at Cliff Hagan Stadium.

On Saturday, the baseball team takes on South Carolina at 12:30p.m. The softball team has another doubleheader against the Gators,beginning at 1 p.m.

Saturday’s activities are capped by the Blue/White SpringFootball Game at 6 p.m. at Commonwealth Stadium. “Wildcat Weekend”wraps up on Sunday with a baseball game vs. South Carolina at 1 p.m.

One ticket, priced at just $5 each, is good for admission to allsix events. Tickets may be purchased in advance at Kroger stores inCentral Kentucky, the UK Ticket Office in Memorial Coliseum, or may bepurchased at the games.

Children age 12 and under will be admitted free to all “WildcatWeekend” events. UK students with ID card will be admitted free andparking is free for all events.

Ticket sales from “Wildcat Weekend” will benefit the UK bandprogram.

Player Update: Here is an update on the status of severalplayers:

  • Freshman defensive lineman Chris Sheehan, who sustained a dislocatedright shoulder in Wednesday’s practice, will undergo surgery next weekand will miss the remainder of spring practice. A timetable forrehabilitation will be decided after the surgery.
  • Senior wide receiver Jimmy Robinson, who re-fractured his left humerusduring the scrimmage on April 8, has chosen to let the bone heal on itsown as opposed to having surgery. He hopes to return to practice inAugust.
  • Senior running back Derek Homer (knee injury), senior linebackerMarlon McCree (hamstring strain), and sophomore defensive end OtisGrigsby (mononucleosis) returned to practice Friday. They are takingpart in non-contact drills. Junior Dougie Allen (knee injury) has madeprogress and added more non-contact drills.
  • Junior Jermaine White is receiving a trial at defensive end. The 6-6,218-pound White has been a wide receiver since his arrival in 1997.
