Men’s soccer runs winning streak to three.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 12, 1999) — The University of Kentuckymen’s soccer team upped its record to 3-0 on Sunday,blasting UNC Asheville 3-0 at the UK SoccerComplex.

UK dominated play, holding a 17-3 shot advantage over the Bulldogs (2-2),and were never threatened during the match.

UK’s Antti Peltonen opened scoring for the Cats, blasting a shot past theUNCA keeper in the fourth minute. UK freshman Chris McDaniel followedwith two goals for the Cats, finding the nets in the seventh and 53rd minutes.

Senior midfielder Lee Baker tied a Cat record, assisting on all three UKgoals. Baker now has six assists in three games, and is nearing SeanEndicott’s school record of 10 assists in a single season.

UK keeper Brian O’Leary blanked the Bulldogs for his second shutout of theseason and lowered his goals-against average to 0.33.

The Soccer Cats return to action Friday, Sept. 17, when they take on Navyin the annual Kentucky Invitational at 7:30 p.m.
