Northwestern scored two second half goals two minutes apart to claim a 2-0win over the Kentucky women’s soccer team Friday night. With the loss,Kentucky falls to 8-10-1 on the year, while Northwestern improves to11-6-0.

Northwestern got on the board in the 61st minute as Stephanie Ericksonscored past UK goalkeeper Carrie Kuhnell. Two minutes later Kamie Pagescored an insurance goal to give Northwestern the final margin at 2-0.

Goalkeeper Carrie Kuhnell posted six saves including two diving stops thatprevented two Northwestern scoring opportunities.

“We are obviously disappointed with the result,” UK head coach WarrenLipka said. “We have to focus now on Sunday’s game against Indiana.”

Kentucky closes out the 1997 regular season at home on Sunday as theWildcats play host to Indiana at the UK Soccer Complex. IU enters thegame with a record 10-8 after posting a 2-1 win over Louisville Friday night.
