Wildcat standout first to earn award as freshman at UK.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (March 25, 2000) — On the final day ofcompetition at the 200 Men’s NCAA Swimming &Diving Championships, freshman Clayton Mosscapped a sensational meet with a 13th-place finish onthe platform diving event to garner honorable mentionAll-American honors, his third All-American honor ofthe meet. Moss finished with a score of 433.45.

On Friday, Moss placed eighth on the 3-meter springboard event to earn All-American. On Thursday, thenative of Doerun, Ga., finished 10th on the 1-meterevent to earn honorable mention honors. He is the firstmale diver to be named an All-American as afreshman in UK school history.

Junior Shaun Zitani placed 58th in the preliminaries ofthe 100-meter freestyle with a time of 50.56. Zitanifinished tied for 12th in the 50 freestyle on Thursdayevening to earn honorable mention honors.
