Women’s swimming places 21st at the meet.
ATHENS, Ga. (March 21, 1999) — The University of Kentucky women’s swim team notchedits sixth-straight top 25 finish at the NCAA Championships this weekend, asthe Cats finished 21st.
The Wildcats were led by senior Rachel Komisarz, who took second in the1650 free, sixth in the 500 free and 11th in the 200 free. Melissa Olsonfinished 13th in the 400 IM, 37th in the 200 IM and 35th in the 200 back,while Annabel Kosten claimed 25th in the 50 free, 26th in the 100 free and30th in the 100 fly. Freshman Carolyn Rader rounded out the Cat squad,coming in 29th in the 200 fly, 38th in the 500 free and 39th in the 100 fly.
Up next for the UK squad is the 1999 NCAA Men’s Swimming & DivingChampionships, March 25-27, in Indianapolis, Ind.
