Men’s track preps LSU Relays on April 16-17.
(April 10, 1999) — Jamie Shannon finished the men’s hammer throw open competition in firstplace at the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn. Shannon’s throw of 188feet, 1 inch was exactly three feet more than second-place finisher GlennAllen’s (Connecticut) was.
Andrew Vanderwagen took home second place and a new season best inthe open high jump competition. His jump of 6-10.25 was more than twoinches better than his previous height.
In women’s competition, Jennifer Kehoe finished in sixth place in thewomen’s open 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:07.87.
In field events, Shevan Threats placed fourth in the open long jumpcompetition with a leap of 20-03.50, and Suzie von Bernuth took home sixthplace in the open shot put with her toss of 46-09 and 10th place in the opendiscus throw after throwing for 151-04.
The Wildcats will see their next action at LSU Alumni Golf Relays on April16-17.
