The 16th-ranked University of Kentucky women’s soccer team will travel to Georgia to match up against the Bulldogs on Friday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m. at the Georgia Women’s Soccer Stadium. The Wildcats lead the series 4-1-1, and won last year’s match, 4-1.

Georgia (7-5-2, 2-1-1) is fourth in the SEC Eastern Division. The Bulldogs swept their opponent last weekend, defeating upcoming Kentucky opponents LSU and Arkansas. Georgia has taken 218 shots, converted 33 of them, and recorded three shutouts. Amy Berbary leads the team in goals (7) and points (15), while Beth Culver leads the Bulldogs with five assists.

Kentucky (11-2, 4-1) split its games last weekend, losing to Florida, 5-3, then defeating South Carolina, 5-1. Following the loss to Florida, the Wildcats fell to second in the conference’s Eastern Division, a position they have not seen since preseason.

The Wildcats remain the leader of the Southeastern Conference in shots (281), goals allowed (15), and points allowed (42) overall. In conference play only, the Cats lead in points (60), goals (18), assists (24), and shots (98). Florida previously led in points and goals allowed after not allowing any goals in its conference matches, but the three goals Kentucky scored on the Gators knocked them out of the top spot.

Leading the Wildcats is the unstoppable trio of Keri Boyce, Annie Gage and Elizabeth Ramsey. At least one of the three has scored in every game in 2000, with the exception of the Cats’ loss to Minnesota.

Overall in the conference, Boyce and Gage are in the top five for points, Boyce is in the top three for goals, and Gage and Ramsey are tied for second in assists. UK goalkeeper Beth Wells is third in shutouts and goals against average.

In SEC matches only, Boyce is tied for first in points, tied for third with Gage in goals, and tied for third in assists. Ramsey leads the assist category, while Gage found a spot in the top five for points.
