The 23-ranked University of Kentuckys mens swimming and diving teams will finish their regular season by playing host to Tennessee on Saturday, Feb. 10, at 4 p.m. at UKs Lancaster Aquatic Center.
Kentucky (5-1, 1-0 SEC) will be led by seniors Aaron Workman, David Tweedie, Shaun Zitani, and Macon White, who will be swimming in their last home meet as Wildcats. Zitani is ranked fifth in the nation in the 50 freestyle, 34th in the 100 freestyle, and 25th in the 100 butterfly, while Workman is ranked 30th in the 50 freestyle. White and Tweedie made appearances in the nations top 50 as White is 39th in the 200 freestyle and 26th in the 500 freestyle, and Tweedie is 35th in the 500 freestyle and 40th in the 1,000 freestyle.
Another Wildcat making the top-50 is Roger Watkins, who is No. 17 in the 200 breaststroke and 21st in the 100 breaststroke.Zitani will have to compete with the Southeastern Conference Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week, Tennessees Renato Gueraldi, in the 50 freestyle. Second-ranked Tennessee has men in the top two in the SEC in all but four events. Volunteer Chris Hussey is third in the nation in the 50 freestyle and Jeremy McDonnell is third in the 100 breaststroke.
