Following its two most impressive outings of the season, the University of Kentucky baseballteam will travel to Gainesville this weekend for a three-game series starting Friday withSoutheastern Conference Eastern Division rival Florida.

UK (14-17, 3-9 SEC) posted a season-high 23 runs on Wednesday at home against TennesseeTech. That performance came on the heels of the Cats upset of seventh-ranked and defendingNCAA Champion LSU last Sunday.

The offense has been the main reason for the improved play. UK’s team batting average nowstands at .282, up considerably from two weeks ago. Five Wildcats are hitting above the.300-mark, with Caleb Brock leading the way at .337. Seth Morris leads the squad in home runswith seven, including his first career grand slam on Wednesday afternoon.

Florida (22-13, 6-6 SEC) enters the weekend series as one of the hottest teams in the country, andriding an 11-game win streak. The Gators are 18-7 at home this season and have swept twoconsecutive SEC series. UF’s offense has put up staggering numbers, most notably the .327 teambatting average. Nine Gators are batting .300 or better.

The series gets underway on Friday at 7 p.m., EST at McKethan Stadium.
