Saturday, April 14, is Kids’ Day with the UK Softball team as the Wildcats take on No. 19(USA Today/NFCA) South Carolina in a noon doubleheader at the UK Softball Complex.

Fans are invited to bring their kids to the ballpark to take in all the action and have an opportunityto win prizes throughout the day. Texas Roadhouse will provide free catering between games.

The Wildcats (20-23, 5-11 Southeastern Conference) have won three of their last five games andare coming off a sweep of Morehead State on Wednesday. The Lady Gamecocks (29-12-1, 13-4SEC) have won eight in a row, with their last loss coming at the hands of fifth-ranked LSU. The serieswill conclude with a single game at noon on Sunday, April 15.

“South Carolina has an outstanding pitching staff led by their ace Megan Matthews,” UK coachBeth Kirchner said. “We need to remain aggressive at the plate, but also be very smart hitters if we aregoing to be successful against her.”

Junior shortstop Angie Dal Pozzo leads UK in hitting with a .362 batting average and six homeruns, while Sophomore Nikki Jones is riding a 10-game hitting streak. Sophomore hurler Morgan Marrhas recorded 13 wins on the season to pace the Wildcat pitching staff.
