Current University of Kentucky women’s tennis coach Mark Guilbeau and former UK tennis standout Christy Sigurskicompleted the 105th Boston Marathon on Monday, April 16. The pair averaged under 7:30 a mile and crossed thefinish line in three hours 15 minutes and 30 seconds.

Guilbeau is currently in his fifth season as head coach of UK. Sigurski, a two-time AcademicAll-American as a Wildcat, currently resides in Philadelphia and is employed by Lexmark.

This marks the eighth marathon for Guilbeau and his second Boston Marathon. The race was onlySigurski’s second marathon and her first in Boston.

“This was a great experience,” Guilbeau said. “I have always tried to put an emphasis on staying healthyand fit and to have an experience like this with a former player has been phenomenal. I am also really proud ofChristy, she did a remarkable job in only her second marathon.”
