NOTES:

UGA sophomore Lesley Joseph clinches the title match with his come from behind win over Paul Podbury at No. 4. Joseph was down 6-1 in the first set tiebreak before coming back to win with the 9-7 tally. Podbury double-faulted on the final point to give Joseph the victory.

This marks Georgia’s fourth tournament title in ten trips to the final match since the new format was instituted in 1990.

South Carolina’s Guillaume Legat was awarded the SEC Tournament Sportsmanship Award. The award is nominated by the coaches and voted on by the officials.

Joseph was named the tourney’s Most Valuable Player after going 2-0 in the tournament. His quarterfinal match with Mississippi State’s Jerome LeBelicard was suspended after Georgia clinched the victory over the Bulldogs on Friday. In yesterday’s match with Ole Miss, Joseph rolled over Martin Selin in straight sets.
