Mike Williams, a defensive back from Tallahassee, Fla., has signed with the University of Kentucky, Coach Guy Morriss has announced.
The 5-11, 185-pound Williams was an all-district performer covering all six classifications at Godby High School. He also is an outstanding performer in track, advancing to the state meet in the triple jump and long jump. He becomes the 24th player in the 2001 recruiting class, including the seventh player that Morriss has obtained since signing day on Feb. 7.
“(Assistant) Coach (Rick) Smith became aware that Mike had become available,” Morriss said. “We got a great recommendation from his high school coach and we liked what we saw on film. Mike runs well and he hits people when he gets there. We’re happy to have him.”
