The University of Kentucky women’s soccer team wrapped up its spring exhibition season with a 7-0 win over Miami (Ohio) on Saturday, April 21. Two Wildcats, Kate Qually and Annie Gage, scored two goals apiece, while Heather Saas, Keri Boyce, and Elizabeth Ramsey all added one. Kentucky finished the spring on a four-game win streak, going 5-0-1.”We had a successful spring season and hope the momentum and chemistry the team built will carry over to the fall,” UK coach Warren Lipka said.
The highlight of the season was the 1-0 win over 16-time national champion North Carolina. The Wildcats’ largest margin of victory was over British squad Wolverhampton, 13-0. The squad also posted wins over Wake Forest and Vanderbilt, and tied with Duke.
Kentucky will meet Vanderbilt again the fall, in Nashville, Tenn., in a game that will kick off conference play for the Cats.
