The SEC announced Tuesday that 10 current or former members of the University of Kentucky softball team have been named to the 2001 Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll by SEC Commissioner Roy Kramer. Mississippi State topped the list with 14 student-athletes on the academic roster, with UK placing second in the total number of student-athletes honored among the 11 schools that sponsor softball teams in the SEC.

The 2001 SEC Softball Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 1999-2000 academic calendar. Wildcats named to the honor roll include Colleen Boddy, Michelle Bucci, Angie Dal Pozzo, Sandi Dengler, Beth Fogle,
