The University of Kentucky women’s golf team currently stands in second place after an impressive opening round at the Alabama Capstone Intercollegiate in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Friday, Oct. 26. The Lady Kats posted a team score of 326, just three strokes behind Minnesota.

Junior Kelly Anders and sophomore Eva Gessner led the way for the Cats with a pair of 80’s that placed them in a tie for seventh place. Towa Okiyama also had an impressive performance by carding an 81.

The tournament will continue on Saturday, Oct. 27, and conclude with the final round on Sunday.
