Cats Wrap Up Fall Workouts
The University of Kentucky softball team will close out the fall semester this week with its last week of individual workouts before breaking for the holiday season. The team, which has been working hard in preparation for the upcoming 2002 campaign, will resume workouts on Monday, Jan. 7, as classes begin the following Wednesday.
“It has been a good fall in terms of our workouts,” UK Coach Beth Kirchner said. “All the players are looking forward to the time off and we all are excited about the upcoming season.”
Ryan Sean Cook Newest Wildcat
Long-time assistant coach Lynda Cook and her husband, Wayne, welcomed their first child, Ryan Sean Cook, into the world on Sunday, Dec. 2. The boy weighed in at 8 lbs., 4 oz. The entire family is doing fine.
Players Sign Autographs at “Women In Sports Day”
The Wildcats showed their appreciation to their fans this past Saturday as the softball team joined with the UK’s women’s tennis, swimming and gymnastic teams to hand out posters and sign autographs at the “Women In Sports Day.” The event was held at Memorial Coliseum in conjunction with the UK women’s basketball game.
