LEXINGTON, Ky. – Junior Clayton Moss and senior Aaron Kirkpatrick finished first and second, respectively, on the three-meter springboard at the Kentucky Diving Invitational on Saturday at UK’s Lancaster Aquatic Center. It was the second consecutive day that the pair claimed top honors, reversing the order from Friday’s one-meter competition.

Moss claimed the top honors by scoring a 553.35 while Kirkpatrick finished right behind him, posting a score of 547.60. Freshman John Collier rounded out the UK male entries, placing ninth (245.35). Brandon Hulko finished third (542.60).

On the women’s one-meter, junior Kelli Frost led the UK entries, scoring a 202.35 to place sixth. Freshman Alison Riccobono placed 10th (188.35) while classmate Trisha Tumlinson finished 11th (180.95). Claiming the top three spots were Holly Hodges (250.75), Lauren King (243.10) and Amanda Blong (212.10).

In late competition on Friday night, Tumlinson recorded a victory on the women’s platform, scoring a 367.10, outscoring second-place finisher Alison Pipitone by 90 points (276.80). Melanie Peters placed third (232.05).

The UK divers have completed their fall competition and will continue to train before the team returns to the pool on January 19, 2002, in a tri-meet with Arkansas and South Carolina.
