The University of Kentucky women’s tennis doubles pair of senior Lauren Rookledge and junior Leigh Bradwell advanced to the finals of the Milwaukee Tennis Classic on Saturday, Jan. 12. The duo defeated Virginia Commonwealth’s Martina Nedelkova and Mily Kanarrkat in the semifinals to claim a spot in the final match.

Rookledge and Bradwell will face Lynsey Fick and Melissa Woods of Purdue on Sunday, Jan. 13, at noon in the championship match. Fick and Woods advanced to the final with a win over UK’s Amy Trefethen and Jill Buckley in the semifinals.

Junior Sarah Witten also fell today in singles competition. Witten lost a tough semifinal match to Caitlin Burke that would have secured UK a spot in both the doubles and singles final.

The Milwaukee Tennis Classic will conclude on Sunday on the campus of Marquette University.
