Tayshaun Prince is one of 10 finalists for the Senior CLASS Award, which is given annually to a male and female senior for remaining in school to fulfill their commitment to the University and completing their collegiate athletic eligibility.

Fans can vote for Prince on the newly launched Web site www.seniorclassaward.com. In addition to voting for the winner, the site will also provide fans with access to up-to-date statistics as well as links to each of the finalist’s team homepages.

The winners of the national awards will be honored at the 2002 Senior CLASS Award Tribute Gala. The gala, a black-tie event scheduled for Saturday, April 20th, will be held at the Westin Crown Center in downtown Kansas City.

The formation of the Senior CLASS Award – an acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School – was announced at the beginning of this year’s college basketball season. The performances of 30 “Players to Watch” for both men and women have been tracked during the season. From that pool of players, a national committee of sportscasters and sportswriters who cover college basketball on the Division I level selected 10 Finalists.
