With an average home crowd of 1,887 fans, the University of Kentucky gymnastics team finished 10th in the nation in attendance, its first appearance in the nation’s top 10 since rankings began in 1998.
Behind the 5,275 fans who witnessed UK topple Ohio Stat at Excite Nite, Kentucky claimed its highest ranking since finishing 29th in 1999 and 2000. Utah led the nation with 9,921 fans per meet. The Southeastern Conference was well represented as Georgia, Alabama and Florida rounded out the top four. Auburn finished eighth, while LSU claimed 13th.
In the ranking of teams by their highest home meet attendance of the season, Kentucky’s Excite Nite crowd ranked fifth behind Utah (14,285), Alabama (10,378), Georgia (9,951) and Florida (6,185). Auburn claimed sixth place with a top crowd of 3,815.
