Bennie Mills, a 6-3, 280-pound defensive lineman from Slidell, La., has been accepted as a transfer student at the University of Kentucky. Mills transferred to UK from the University of Florida.

Mills will receive UK’s final initial scholarship for the class of 2002 newcomers. He will practice with the team during the 2002 season, but will sit out game action as a transfer. He will have two years of eligibility in 2003-04.

“We’re excited about having Bennie here,” Morriss said. “He’s a great player. We look forward to having him on the team this season and playing for us in 2003.”
