Lexington, Ky. – The University of Kentucky men’s golf team received three more individual honors from the Golf Coaches’ Association of America on Monday, June 3. Senior Philip Schardein, junior Andy Dustman and freshman John Holmes were all honored for their 2002 campaigns.
Holmes, a Campbellsville, Ky., native, was honored as a Ping All-American by the GCAA. Holmes was previously named to the GCAA’s All-Freshman Team and was placed on the association’s All-America third team.
Schardein and Dustman were also honored as they were named to the Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar team. The pair registered the honor for their work in the classroom as well as on the links.
“All three of these student-athletes are deserving of the honors they have received,” Coach Brian Craig said. “They are all very dedicated individuals and their accomplishments are a positive reflection on the UK golf program.”
