Team Will Have “Cat Walk” at 11:30 a.m. as Wildcats Arrive at Gate 9: Fans are encouraged to meet the team when the Wildcats arrive at 11:30 a.m. at Gate 9. The players will make the “Cat Walk” from Gate 9 to their stadium entry point at Gate 12. Blue cat paws will be painted along the “Cat Walk” route on the south side of the stadium and fans are encouraged to line up on the sidewalk and cheer the team as it enters the stadium.The “Cat Walk” has been organized by the families of the players, a group that has organized as the Wildcat Football Family Association.

Security Remains the Same: The additional security procedures that were in place last season will continue during the 2002 season.

Items which cannot be brought in the stadium include backpacks, bags, flag poles, umbrellas, glass containers, aluminum containers, plastic and paper containers, food, ice chests, bags of ice, video cameras, alcoholic beverages, artificial noisemakers, signage not previously approved by UK Athletics, or any object considered dangerous to patrons in Commonwealth Stadium.

Fans are permitted to bring in cell phones, pagers, still cameras, small purses, binoculars, small radios, and seat cushions. All items brought into the stadium are subject to search.

Parking: All parking at the stadium is reserved. There is no single-game pay parking in the stadium lots. Stadium lots open at 8 a.m.

Non-reserved parking on campus (north of Cooper Drive) is first-come, first-served.

Detach the Bottom of Your Parking Permit, Display the Top Portion: Commonwealth Stadium parking permits are perforated this year. Fans are asked to detach the bottom portion of the permit and present it to the lot attendant. The remaining upper portion must be displayed from your rearview mirror. If a vehicle does not have a football parking permit displayed, it will be subject to tow.

Pre-Game Traffic Flow at Commonwealth Stadium: Monitored traffic control begins two hours before kickoff.
Please note that Woodland Avenue will be closed, beginning at Euclid Avenue. Permit holders with a Red, Red Suite, Red Disabled, Orange, or PS1 pass who intend to access those lots from that direction should use Rose Street to Huguelet to University Drive as your connector route.

Post-Game Traffic Flow at Commonwealth Stadium: UK is attempting to diminish the “stop/start” traffic and insure continuous flow from the parking lots.

Orange and RV lots will exit right in two lanes onto University Drive, then right on Alumni Drive to Nicholasville RoadBlue and Alumni Yellow lots will exit via Alumni East to Tates Creek RoadNorth Yellow and Purple lots will exit via Jerry Claiborne Way to Cooper Drive East.Green lot will exit through Jerry Claiborne Way to Cooper Drive EastRed lot will exit, forming four lanes, right onto University to Cooper Drive West or University North.Non-reserved disabled will exit Farm Road to Nicholasville Road.

No Parking Pass? No Problem, “Touchdown Downtown” Moving Again: Fans who do not have reserved parking are advised to use the “Touchdown Downtown” LexTran shuttle service. Fans can park in five downtown lots and catch a round-trip shuttle to the stadium for $2 per person. “Touchdown Downtown” begins three hours prior to kickoff and runs up to game time. Return trips begin midway through the fourth quarter and continue until fans have been returned downtown.

The five downtown parking lots are located at:

Civic Center Shops Parking, directly across from Rupp Arena on High Street (pay $3 to park your car);

Transit Center Parking at the intersection of High Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard (free parking);

Ramsey’s Diner Lot behind Faith Covenant Church at the intersection of East High Street and Woodland (free parking);

Central Parking System lot at the intersection of Market Street and Short Street (pay $2 to park your car); and

Central Parking System lot at the intersection of Mill Street and Short Street (pay $2 to park your car).

The three shuttle stops are located at:

Corner of East High Street and Woodland (in front of Ramsey’s Diner);

West Vine Street across from the Radisson Plaza; and

Transit Center.

Disabled Parking and Elevators: Non-reserved disabled parking is located in the Tobacco Research Building parking lot on the corner of University Drive and Cooper Drive. Shuttle buses are available for transport to the stadium.

Disabled ticket holders will be allowed to use the suite elevators at each corner of the stadium. The press box elevator is reserved for media only.

Stadium Gates: Commonwealth Stadium gates open two hours before game time.

Suggestion Boxes: There will be six suggestion boxes posted on the stadium concourse. Fans are encouraged to write suggestions for game management and leave them in the boxes.

No Pass-out Checks: No pass-out checks are issued for fans who wish to leave the stadium during the game. Anyone leaving the stadium must have a new, unused ticket to re-enter the stadium.

UK Marching Band Will Parade Around Stadium: The UK Marching Band will parade around the stadium, beginning at approximately 12:40 p.m. The band parade will begin and end at Gate 4.
